Nail Care – Regional Update
Please see the revised Nail Care agenda for the regional competitions. The contest has changed slightly. Please take special notice of the revised schedule of events. You will need to be there no later than 8 a.m. in order to make it to your contest site after registration.
8 a.m. Registration and Sign-in at Contest Site
8:30-9 a.m. Written Exam
9-9:05 a.m. Initial preparations for acrylic nail application
9:05-9:35 a.m. Acrylic nail application–sculpt nails with product to two (2) nails on right hand
9:35-9:40 a.m. Set for nail wraps
9:40-10:10 a.m. Nail wrap application to three (3) nails on left hand
10:10:-10:20 a.m. Break/Judging of nails (Acrylic and wraps)
10:20-10:25 a.m. Set-up for background polish for nail art application/red polish application
10:25-10:40 a.m. Red polish application on two (2) nails on right hand
Background polish for nail art on three (3) nails on left hand
10:40-11:25 a.m. Nail Art on three (3) nails on left hand
11:30 a.m. Contest Ends
12 p.m. Results turned in to headquarters
NOTE: Contestants need to bring all supplies and equipment to meet the above schedule. Refer to Technical Standards for equipment and supplies and the National SkillsUSA website for contest updates in Nail Care.
2013 State Conference Information Sheet
Residential Wiring
The Residential Wiring contest at the Upper East Regional Conference will be a written test only this year. Please plan accordingly.
SkillsUSA State Conference Registration
Registration for the Tennessee SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference will open on Feb. 15, 2013 and close on March 15, 2013.

Contest Updates and New Rules
Resume Requirement for Regional, State, and National Competitions:
· All competitors must create a one-page hard copy résumé and submit it to the technical committee chair at the contest orientation. Failure to do so will result in a 10 point penalty. Competitors can bring a résumé to the contest on the day of competition; however, the penalty will remain in effect. Please follow the link below to see the newest updates on SkillsUSA contests and revisions.
Please note that these updates take precedent over what is listed in the technical standards. The updates will also be enforced at the state conference.
